Shane Emmons is a TeamSnapper

TeamSnap is pleased to welcome Shane Emmons to our development team! He’ll be part of the group making our web application and mobile APIs better, stronger, faster.

Shane earned his Bachelors and Master in Computer Science from the University of Michigan. He spent the last decade working on a myriad of things, including: mentoring and teaching with Mendicant University, leading Open Source projects like RubyMoney, working on Rails projects for socially good Open Source projects, and hacking on Ruby and massive financial data warehouses in the bowels of the Insurance industry. He continues to offer Open Source mentoring locally and through Mendicant University.

Shane is an avid sailor and dreams of participating in the Singlehanded TransPac in the near future; if he can convince his family (and himself) that it’s really not that dangerous. Recently Shane started learning guitar (for the third time) and is finally starting to “get it”. He also enjoys biking, hiking and camping, though he doesn’t get out on the road or the trail as much as he’d like. A lifetime Wolverine, Shane bleeds Blue and Gold.

Shane lives in Saginaw, Michigan, right near the Saginaw Bay, with his wife Beth, daughter Violet, two pugs Ruby and Penny, and lonely fish Suckhead.
