Footwork for Keepers
Critical to the success of a soccer goalkeeper, the shuffle and the crossover are two examples of proper soccer goalkeeping footwork.
In the shuffle, the goalkeeper moves side to side in front of the net without crossing their feet to protect the goal line. In the crossover, the goalie moves forward or in reverse without crossing their feet to make a catch or attack a ball.
