Check Points For A Throw

In this video, a youth baseball coach breaks down the check points of the baseball throw, and provides a step-by-step look at the components of a solid baseball throw. These are important baseball tips that young players need to grasp for a throw.

Transcription:

Now we're going to talk about the checkpoints drill. We're going to do this to make sure we have a proper throw when we start playing catch. What we're going to do is visually look at each spot and make sure we have it correct. First we look down at our knees, make sure they're nice and bent. Then we're going to take a look at our elbow and make sure it's above our shoulder. Then we're going to take a look at our wrist and make sure it's nice and loose and facing behind us. If we can look and see what it feels like, then we know we have it correct. After we have these spots down we take a look at our target, make sure our elbow's facing it too. Step in, step out, throw and finish.
